This year, IHEEP is offering two separate guest registrations. Any conference attendee may bring a guest(s). All guests attending the conference must be registered. The Guest Program provides great opportunities to explore Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas, to check out some of the Grand Strand's top sites and to meet other guests.

  • Daily local outings to explore Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas. Admission to all venues is included with Guest Program Registration. Any additional voluntary costs are not covered.

Hospitality | Travel Provisions

Hotel

IHEEP 2025 is being held at the Sheraton Myrtle Beach. Conveniently located, the hotel offers close proximity to premier destinations like Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade, Family Kingdom Amusement Park, and Broadway at the Beach.

There are two blocks set up for government agencies and general attendees respectively. Room rates in the reservation block for government employees is set at $110/night and for general attendees at $129/night plus associated local taxes. Please use the correct rate when reserving a room.

Those traveling to South Carolina for the conference will want to fly into the Myrtle Beach International Airport, conveniently located less than 5 miles from the conference hotel.

Ride Share Services and Taxi Services are widely available at the airport as well. It is typically about a 15 minute ride from the airport to the hotel.

For those looking for more freedom rental cars are available from most major car rental companies. If you are driving the hotel offers valet parking for a fee or you can self-park on site for $10.00

Presentations | Sessions & Speakers

Presentations, discussions and workshops are a key part of the IHEEP conference and provide a great opportunity to share innovations and technical information among transportation agencies and professionals.

Focus areas include BIM and Open Standards, Digital Delivery, Construction and Surveying Technology, Resiliency Planning, Quality Assurance, UAS, AI and more. Please refer to the information on the schedule for submitting presentations.

The 2025 schedule allows for 30 minute presentations. If your presentation cannot be condensed, then please let us know to schedule the presentation for a 45 minute or 60 minute slot. Extra time will be limited as we want to include as many presentations as possible. Please discuss workshop submittals with the Technical Committee directly.

Selection of presentations will be based on applicability to the conference themes, DOT presentations first, DOT partnered with consultants/vendors second, consultants or consultants partnered with vendors next, and then vendor only. All presentations should be geared to success stories, practical applications of technology, practical steps for implementation, etc.

Abstracts, Speaker Bios, and Presentations should be submitted to PlanStorage@scdot.org.

The Sunday Morning Networking provides an opportunity to enjoy time with other conference attendees and guests prior to the general and technical sessions. There are two networking options this year:

Golf Networking
  • Location: Myrtlewood PineHills
  • Time: Tee times every eight minutes from 7:30 to 8:50 a.m. – bucket of range balls included for those who would like to take advantage of this offer.
  • Club Rental: Golf club rentals are extra $65 plus tax. This will include two sleeves of golf balls and full set of TaylorMade golf clubs.
  • Details: The format will be 18 holes with each team playing as a 4 person scramble.

Deep Sea Fishing Networking
  • Location: Crazy Sisters Marina
  • Limited seating options – only available for 65
  • Time: Bus will leave the hotel at 6 a.m.,
    Fishing charter will be from 6:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Details: Transportation to the Marina will be provided. Rod, reel, bait, tackle, fishing license will be provided on the boat. Snacks and drinks available for purchase on the boat – no personal coolers allowed.
  • In the event of bad weather or rough sea conditions the trip will be cancelled and refunded.

Technical Tours Information

Saltwater Marsh Eco Tour

Sail through Murrell's inlet with a naturalist onboard learning about the SC Coast. While on the cruise, participate in a live demonstration that includes local crabs and pulling a sample dredge from the bottom of the creek bed directly into the touch tank for all to observe.

The shelling cruise also includes a “walkabout” as the captain positions the boat on a local beach so you can disembark onto the beach and dune area searching for local treasures and shells.

The Explorer is a United States Coast Guard Certified and Inspected vessel that is 54′ in length and has a bathroom.
